MATHY-AGR is a highly effective exhaust gas recirculation valve cleaner (EGR) for diesel vehicles. Regular use of MATHY-AGR reduces the build-up of carbonaceous residues in the exhaust gas recirculation system. Repairs are minimized. Impurities are degraded chemically via the exhaust gas flow. Malfunctions caused by a contaminated EGR valve can thus permanently be avoided.

The Problem

Due to the increased biofuel content in today's diesel fuels, frequent short distance trips (stop and go) and the introduction of the Euro 5 standard, the entire diesel system and the exhaust gas recirculation system are constantly strained. This load manifests itself in the build-up of coking (combustion residues) on mechanically moving parts that are located in the exhaust gas flow. These impurities cause most malfunctions in the EGR valve. In extreme cases, the EGR valve gets stuck and the engine reverts into the emergency program.

The Consequences

Consequences are a rough engine running, a spluttering or jerky start, black exhaust fumes, engine misfires, increased fuel consumption, poor starting behavior, deterioration of exhaust emissions, bad idle running, extreme power loss, and activation of the malfunction indicator light.

Dosage

Add one can (300 ml) MATHY-AGR to 50 l diesel fuel (B7).

Application

Simply add the complete content of the 300 ml can to the diesel fuel prior to refueling.

Note: The amount of fuel in the tank should at least add up to 10 liters or the reserve volume before adding MATHY-AGR.

Apply MATHY-AGR every 7,500 km when the majority of driving consists of frequent short distance trips (under 20 km). When mainly driving long distance, apply at least every 15,000 km.

For vehicles with a mileage of more than 50,000 km, we recommend a cleaning phase with 5 tank fillings, plus 3 x 300 ml MATHY-EGR. Do not use further additives until the cleaning phase has been completed.

Completely coked EGR valves with the engine running in the emergency program can be no longer be cleaned by MATHY-AGR.

For a mileage of more than Ab 50.000 km we recommend a cleaning phase with 5 tank fillings, plus our intensive cleaner set consisting of 3 x 300ml MATHY-AGR.

Important note: 
Fully coked exhaust gas recirculation valves (EGR) can no longer be cleaned with MATHY-AGR. Also, MATHY-AGR cannot take effect if the engine control lamp is already partially or permanently lit (yellow). In these cases, the EGR valve must be removed or cleaned manually. We recommend using MATHY-AGR as a preventive measure!
